A Clinical Observation of Traumatic Drum Perforation


Abstract
The authors observed the clinical findings of 64 cases of traumatic drum, perforations, who visited the department of otolaryngology of Busan Armed Forced General Hospital. The results obtained were as follows;
1. The main cause of drum perforation was indirect trauma (92.5%).
2. The perforation was usually seen in left eardrum; especially in the anterior and inferior quadrant and intermediate portion.
3. Frequent complaints were hearing loss and tinnitus.
4. Most of the drum perforation showed half rice size and triangular shape.
5. In spring, drum perforation was frequently occurred..
